CHINESE PARTNER MOUNTAIN FOR THE JUNGFRAUJOCH |

2002-2003 |
The
United Nations declared 2002 "The International
Year of the Mountains". To mark this occasion,
the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai took
the initiative to partner the two regions Jungfraujoch-Top
of Europe with the Huangshan Mountain in China. The
Huangshan Region is a UNESCO World Heritage, as is the
Jungfrau-Aletsch Region. The partnership is growing.

Exhibition
"WORK IN PROGRESS, Swiss Art of Architecture"
about Swiss modern architecture
Swiss modern architects' creativity has been recognized
worldwide. This exhibition will introduce Switzerland's
leading architects for the first time to Shanghai and
also present four leading Swiss architects works and
projects in China.
The exhibition will be opened by Swiss President
Mr. Pascal Couchepin on November 24, 2003

"Swiss
in Shanghai"
This exhibition consists of interesting original photographs
taken by Swiss residents in Shanghai between in the
1860's and in the 1930's. It demonstrates the strong
presence Switzerland has had in the region of Shanghai
and Hangzhou since the middle of the 19th century. Swiss
residents of today's Shanghai will be invited to produce
a third set of photographs by exhibiting their best
pictures of their second home at the Bund.
